If you live in the Interlakes or around Bridge Lake, you’ve probably been wondering:
“What’s actually happening in the market right now?”
Because depending on who you ask, you’ll hear completely different answers.
So here’s the straight version.
The market here is steady… but more selective.
What I’m seeing in Bridge Lake and the Interlakes:
Good properties are still selling
Buyers are taking a bit more time before making decisions
Overpriced listings are sitting longer than they used to
It’s not the kind of market where everything sells instantly.
But it’s also not a slow or struggling market.
A couple years ago, things were moving fast.
Buyers were:
Competing more
Making quicker decisions
Willing to overlook certain issues
Now, buyers are more careful.
They’re paying attention to:
Condition
Access
Usability
Overall value
And honestly, that’s not a bad thing.
If you’re buying locally, this kind of market can actually work in your favor.
You have more room to:
Ask questions
Take a second look
Make sure the property actually fits your needs
You’re less likely to feel rushed into something that doesn’t quite work.
If you’re selling, the strategy matters more than ever.
Because buyers are paying attention.
The homes that are selling right now tend to be:
Priced realistically
Presented well
Clear about what they offer
The ones that struggle?
Usually:
Priced too high
Missing key details
Not positioned properly from the start
A lot of people are trying to label the market as either:
→ “Good”
or
→ “Bad”
But that’s not really how it works.
It’s just different.
And different markets require different strategies.
I had a conversation recently with a seller who was worried because their neighbor’s property had been sitting for months.
When we looked closer, it wasn’t the market causing the issue.
It was:
Pricing
Presentation
Expectations
At the same time, another property nearby—priced properly and set up well—sold without much trouble.
Same area.
Different outcome.
I’m Amanda Oldfield, a Realtor with eXp Realty based in 100 Mile House, and I work with buyers and sellers throughout Bridge Lake and the Interlakes.
Right now, my focus is simple:
Helping people understand what’s actually happening—not what headlines or opinions say.
For sellers, that means:
Getting the pricing right from the start
Positioning the property properly
Adjusting when needed
For buyers, it means:
Making sure you’re choosing the right property
Not just reacting to what’s available
Taking advantage of the space this market gives you
It’s balanced.
But thoughtful.
Things are still happening.
They’re just happening with more intention.
If you’re trying to figure out what this market means for you specifically, that’s where a quick conversation can help.
You can:
Ask about your property value
Talk through buying options
Get a clearer picture of timing
No pressure.
Just real information so you can decide what makes sense.
