Questions to ask when hiring a Realtor®

Before you hire a real estate agent, there's questions you should be asking to ensure that you get a great agent.
-One thing to consider is how are they going to generate buyers for your home? Here in our little rural community in 100 Mile House, there's not a lot of open houses being done because they're not well attended. You need to stand out online to be sure the Buyers are seeing your home. You can ask how are they going to ensure buyers from around here as well as out of town are seeing your home.
-Another questions to ask is what are the technologies and innovations are they using to stay ahead? A lot of agents are still doing what they did three, five, 20 years ago. Some of them are even wearing the same shoulder pads! But in today's day and age, you need to be staying ahead of the curve to make sure you're being marketed correctly.
-A third good thing to talk about is social media. Since 70% of buyers start their search online, you need to be sure that your house is well-represented in the online world. According to NAR (National Association of Realtors in the US), only 16% of realtors are using social media in their marketing and only 1% of them are doing it well. Now that's an American stat, but our Canadian numbers probably aren't much better, so you need to make sure your agent is right on top, cream of the crop.
